Hangin' at Jack Fisher Park

Nolan and his best buds/cousins, Robert and Connor, spent the afternoon at Jack Fisher Park near Jenn and Jarrod's house.

This park is awesome - big grass area, playground, and (the kids' favorite) the water/sand area.  After a spending some time on the swings and slides, the boys made a B-line to the water area.  At first I wanted to hold him back from making a complete mess of himself, but then I thought, "What the hell - go for it!"

Nolan LOVED playing the water, stomping around, and making a general mess.  Those are PRICELESS times for kids - gotta let them go nuts sometimes :)

Connor and Nolan, making highways for their truck...

Hmmm, whatcha doin' there?...

Alright, I'll just have to help you out...

And STOMP on your sculpture...

Sweet, my job is done...

It's time to go home.

Nolan's First Tooth!

Nolan's first tooth has arrived! Yes, he is 15.5 months....shut up, so what?! All that matters that I won't have to buy him baby dentures.

15 months, 3 weeks....and new levels of love

Today, Nolan is 15 months and 3 weeks. I would have to say that this age is truly my favorite age yet. I remember crying when he was a baby, thinking that he was going to grow out of the baby stage too fast and I couldn't deal with not having a baby.

I knew that would love my child more and more each day. But what REALLY surprised me was this immense increase in my love and affection for him just in the past couple weeks. I really didn't think it was possible to love him more, but his amazing personality is coming out and.....I just can't explain it. It's just a new level of love.

I thought I would list all his current vocabulary before I forgot it. We all know how shotty my memory is.
  1. Dada (his first word)
  2. Mama
  3. Nana
  4. No (usually accompanied by rapidly shaking his head)
  5. Bye bye (rarely, though)
  6. Down ("daw")
  7. Crunch ("caw", as he stomps leaves, or crumples something)
  8. All done ("awe duh")
  9. Up (sounds more like "app". He refuses to use this one lately, though. He just lifts his arms to be lifted, but refuses to use the word. Oy!)
  10. Outside ("ow-die")
  11. I love you ("I yuh you". He said once, and only once. I don't think he knew what he was saying, but it still melted my heart to hear it!)
  12. Cracker ("Ca-caw". This is one of his recent favorites. Points to all cracker boxes, demanding his "ca-caw")
  13. Go (says this as he runs or throws things)
  14. Light ("yight". Just said this yesterday, twice, for the first time)
  15. The most amazing thing that I think he said: Ball goes right there ("baw go ight dare" as he pushed the ball back into his ball-popper toy)
There may be more, but as I mentioned, the memory is not so great :)

"Go!"

Nolan loves the word "go" now. He uses while running; he uses it will pushing things; and he even uses it to tell me to "go" when my car is stopped. Thanks, little man. What would I do without my backseat driver?

Laptop Time

If you'll excuse us, we've got a lot of work to do!
