First (partial) sleepover

Nolan had his first (partial) sleepover. Francis & I dropped Nolan off at Jarrod & Jenn's so that we could get a brief night out to celebrate a friend's law school gradution. We put Nolan to bed there around 7pm, then returned to J&J's house by 9:45pm.

Granted, he only slept there for ~2.5 hours, but that is a big step for me! I've never tried to have Nolan start his bedtime at someone else's house!
Things went really well; Nolan only cried for 10 minutes, then fell asleep. Jenn even sent a reassuring email for me - a pic of Nolan sleeping soundly :)

Oh, and my nephew Robert said the cutest thing that had me cracking up. Right after we left the house to go to the party, Robert said, "Oh no!!! Auntie Marissa forgot Nolan!"
Gotta love that kid!

Rapture??!!

Some religious dude has predicted the "Rapture" for today. So goodbye all, it's been a good life. Should we all good to church now to redeem ourselves in one day for a lifetime of debauchery?

Oh, what did you say? You don't believe that bullshit either? Alright then, talk to you mofos tomorrow!

I'm hiding!

Here are a couple pics I took which were too adorable not to post. Nolan kept pulling the blanket over his head, and I snapped a couple shots:

My 1st Mother's Day

For my 1st mother's day, we went over my mom's house and had a delicious brunch with Jarrod, Jenn, Robert, Connor, Francis, Nolan, my mom (of course!) and my grandmere. We just lounged and gorged...it was a good day! Francis has something special planned for just the two of us next weekend. Can't wait!
Here's my Nolan-man ready to head to Nana's:

But here's truly the BEST part of my Mother's Day. Cuddling with my little man.

Nolan has mastered sitting!!

Nolan has mastered sitting! This past month, I have been working with Nolan to help him sit up. It actually never crossed my mind to start this with him...until Jenn asked if he had begun trying to sit-up. I thought it would be too early for him, but apparently I had some work to do!

The first attempt, he actually did pretty well! He stayed up for 5-10 seconds, then toppled over. So each night, after work, I would read to him while having him work on this new skill.

Then voila! I went to pick up Nolan from my mom's house, and there he was: sitting on the front lawn with my mom waiting for me! Sitting on his OWN!

That's my little man!!!!
