Speech regression
Alexa has had some real speech regression the past couple months. She says fewer words now at 15 months than she did at 10-12month.
Her doctor suspected hearing issues and checked her ears. Turns out they're filled with fluid :( So we were given medicine and referred to an audiologist to see how much of a hearing loss she has.
The audiologist checked her ears and found she has mild hearing loss. that She's basically hearing like she's under water, so that can impact speech at this age. But then she also gave us also gave me a brochure for a speech therapist, as well as referring us to an ENT after 2 months of taking Flonase to clear the fluid.
Speech therapist??? And wait 2 months with fluid in ears during peak speech development?? I'm not sure all this seems right :(
